Cape Le Grand

After the bushwalk the other day I had a really long sleep. But the Tilo , Angie, Owen and Emma already had plans for me: making me jealous.

After the breakfast we all jumped into Owens big 4WD and off we went to one of the national parks east of Esperance: Cape Le Grand.

With the car we went down to the water and had a scenic drive along the sandy beach. Then they gave me a lesson in driving a 4WD on sand. After a few starting problems I think I did quit well, at least nobody jumped of to save his life.
Unfortunately the sun didn’t come out and there was a chilling wind so we skipped any water activities.
At the end of the beach we had a little picknick befor we went on to Hellfire Bay and Lucky Bay. Both of them where exeptionally beautiful but Lucky Bay got this marvelous sand. Like powder snow... I just had to grab some to bring it back home.
And I had the chance to see on of those really rare Sea Eagles with a wing span of two meters and more.
Eventhough it was cloudy all the time the water had a brilliant shade of turkish. This beaches must be juwels on sunny days.

Since the australiens remembered climbing the Schöckl near Graz they just had to show me Frenchmans Peak. A nice little granite rock with a cave on top which the waves formed million of years ago when the sea level was much higher.
Getting to the top took us fifeteen minutes and the panorama up there around the national park is breathtaking.

Finished the day with meeting Tilo and Owens mom and a really good dinner Emma and Owen did for us. Mom did this yummy dessert...
I am thinking about moving in with them :o)
