Singapore, day four

Had a night with little sleep. The gecko kept on screeming. Either he was celebrating a victory or he was afraid. At least the ants sticked to the bug and left me alone so I woke up in bed and not in front of the door.

The day started with a thunderstorm and I started it with another nap.  Then i obeyed to the lonely planet and had to get myself the best breakfast in town: Ya Kun Kaya Toast with eggs an tea. So I got myself a cab to Ngee Ann City Mall to go to the food coart in the basement.

During the ride I had a little chat with the driver. He told me that today is a public holiday due to a buddhist feast. So this was the first day of a long weekend. That info blew my plan of going to Santosa island which is a prefered spot for the singaporien spending their spare time. That and the changing weather also killed plan B: Orchard Farm and Night Safari.
We talked about the traffic also and I learned that some cars have are licenced to be used only after 7pm and on weekends. He told me that the cars that are only allowed after sunset are called vampire cars. Befor my inner eye I saw a town full of batmobiles. Nice!

On my way to the food court I couldn’t help but notice all those shiny brand names. I guess no one was missing. You name it, you can find it there. Couldn’t resist to take pictures from at least some of them. In the food court i couldn’t resist either. So much delicouse food. Took pictures until I was told that it’s not allowed.

The toast was delicious, and the preparation of it very interesting. Have to try that stuff as soon as I can lay hands on toast bread.

Headed over to the internet spot to read my mail and upload the blogs.

Since it was still raining when I left i decided to watch MI:III. Waiting for the film I again spend some time in a food court and had some delicouse and unexpensive food. So, whenever you come to Singapore try to eat in food courts or hawker centers. Cheap and delicouse food and so many choises you could be starving while you dry to decide what to eat.

For the film: Ethan Hunt playing Tom Cruice in midlife crisis. On the other hand: If my midlife crisis would look like this I wouldn’t complain.
